Learn by Loving

Learning is Retention and Application..

That is one of my favorite quotes of my professor ma’am G.

As we ended our third year, ma’am G introduced us to what is edublogging all about… when I first heard it, I was like…

oh my!! It must be difficult to write a blog”. As a teenager I am fond watching movies and not that much in reading a book or writing a poem. And I’m kind a having an “English Difficulty Syndrome” ahaha.. I don’t know if there is a syndrome like that. smile

Education + Blogging = Learning..

In edublogging you need a lot of researches or knowledge about the topic you want to write. Through edublogging I learned a lot of things that can make my studying easier, and you can also help others it’s like when I said it in Tagalog “NATUTO KA NA NAKATULONG KA PA” .

For me learning should be by heart and by mind. As a student LOVE everything (studies) and you will LEARN something.

Toxicology

Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms. It is the study of symptoms, mechanisms, treatments and detection of poisoning, especially the poisoning of people.

House MD is one of my favorite TV series, even if there are some unfamiliar words that I don’t understand.
In some of the episodes I have seen in House MD, House had difficulty in detoxing from Vicodin , since he was informed that there are other treatments or medicines that can lessen his leg pain.  There was an episode wherein he volunteered to enter in a rehabilitation center to try to take away Vicodin from his lifestyle.

Like any other people, being addicted to drugs, alcohol or other chemicals can change the way he connects with others.  It may be because of the chemical reactions of the body from the abusive intake of these “poisons” of the body.

Poisoning can result from an overdose of drugs that are brought over the counter and even those are prescribed drugs.

A poison (toxin) is a substance which, if taken into the body in sufficient quantity, may cause temporary or permanent damage.

Poisons can be:

Swallowed

  Absorbed through the skin
Inhaled
Injected

How to Treat Poisoning

  • You should understand what poisoning is
  • Remain calm
  • Check for signs and symptoms of poisoning.
  • Check the victim's state of consciousness
  • Call the poison control center for a conscious (awake and alert) victim.
  • Stay on the phone and follow all the instructions given to you by emergency assistance or the poison control center.
  • Note some of the basic responses that you might be able to do before help arrives

Asking can HELP

Endocrinology.. hmmm what can I say with this simple word but difficult to explain or visualize. HORMONES, this is the first thing that pop into my mind whenever i here this word.  According to my research, as i scan through my references, Endocrinology was the study of hormones (That was my first thought =D) an the glands that produce them. Our body has 8 glands that produces a lot of hormones  that serves as a messenger to send out messages to other tissues or organs and these are: Pituitary Gland; Hypothalamus; Thymus;  Pineal Gland;  Thyroid; Adrenal Gland ; Parathyroid ; Pancreas. In addition to that  male produces hormes through testes and females produces hormones through her ovaries

OVARIES, this is the gland which I’m much familiar of, aside from being a female (which I have it =D) I have this special friend who has a PCOS or stands for polycystic ovary syndrome. This is the condition that is affected of Hormonal Imbalance, due to overproduction of male hormones instead of female hormones which are the Estrogen and Progesterone. Yes, female normally produce male hormones (androgen) but in minimal amount. Here are some of the conditions that could encounter if you’re suffering from Hormonal Imbalance, excessive hair growth, having problem to lose weight because of decrease of insulin (hormone produced by pancreas that is responsible for the change of carbohydrate and fat into energy), acne, ovulation problem and irregular menstrual cycle. Because of experiencing some irregularities in her body she consulted her OB/GYN to stop her anxiety and ask about her condition.

Mostly, people do not want to bother going to the hospital for some reasons like, having the thought of "its just a waste of time and most of all waste of money".

Asking questions?? There is no harm in doing this; rather it might help you understand what is messing up with your mind right now
